    With the development and application of synthetic biology, significant progress has been made in the production of folate by microbial fermentation using cell factories, especially for using generally regarded as safe (GRAS) microorganism as production host. In this review, the physiological functions and applications of folates were firstly discussed. Second, the current advances of folate-producing GRAS strains development were summarized. Third, the applications of synthetic biology-based metabolic regulatory tools in GRAS strains were introduced, and the progress in the application of these tools for folate production were summarized. Finally, the challenges to folates efficient production and corresponding emerging strategies to overcome them by synthetic biology were discussed, including the construction of biosensors using tetrahydrofolate riboswitches to regulate metabolic pathways, adaptive evolution to overcome the flux limitations of the folate pathway. The combination of new strategies and tools of synthetic biology is expected to further improve the efficiency of microbial folate synthesis.As an alternative energy source for fossil energy, use of biomass pyrolysis to reduce pyrolusite is of great significance for energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection. Kinetics and thermodynamics of reducing pyrolusite using biomass pyrolysis was studied using thermogravimetric analysis analysis. Five non-isothermal methods, Flynn-Wall-Ozawa, Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose, Distributed Activation Energy Model, Starink and Friedman, were employed to calculate the pyrolysis kinetics and thermodynamic parameters. The results showed that pyrolusite reduction by biomass pyrolysis can be divided into four stages drying stage (30-175 °C), rapid pyrolysis reduction stage (175-350 °C), slow pyrolysis reduction stage (350-680 °C) and char formation stage (680-900 °C). The apparent activation energy, reaction enthalpy, Gibbs free energy and entropy change of pyrolusite reduction by biomass pyrolysis was calculated ranges from 170 to 180 kJ/mol, 164 to 174 kJ/mol, 136.97 to 137.25 kJ/mol and 45.67 to 61.91 J/mol·K, respectively. The SBRs were modified and operated with periodic addition of 20 μL·L-1 nanofloc®. Results revealed that NH4+-N and chemical oxygen demand (COD) was efficiently removed in both laboratory- and pilot-scale SBRs, and the average removal efficiency of total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) was as high as 72.43 ± 2.66% and 98.63 ± 0.74%, respectively, with hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 8 h. Besides, the sludge volume index at 30 min (SVI30) was only 40.06 ± 1.99 mL·g-1, comparable with aerobic granular sludge (AGS). This novel technology could be proposed as a competitive method to upgrade, reconstruct and delay the expansion of municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) due to its rapid sludge sedimentation and efficient pollutants removal with low HRT.

    Low Back Pain (LBP) is commonly reported as a very frequent disorder in sports, but its prevalence in runners remains unclear.

    To determine the prevalence of LBP in a wide sample of Italian runners.

    A cross-sectional online survey.

    A national survey, according to the CHERRIES and STROBE guidelines, was performed in 2019.

    2539 Italian runners.

    A sample of Italian runners registered with national running associations was recruited. The survey was conducted using an online survey development platform. The questionnaire was self-reported and included 38 questions.

    Descriptive statistics and frequencies were used to analyze results. Relationships between demographics, daily habits and running characteristics and the responses given was calculated with Cramer’s V. Only correlation values higher >0.60 were deemed of interest.

    2539 questionnaires (63.5%) were valid for analysis. In total, 22.6% of runners reported having experienced LBP in the past year. Most participants (77.0%) reporting episodes of LBP believed it was not caused by running. No significant correlations (Cramer’s V<0.60) were found between LBP and demographics, training characteristics or lifestyle habits.

While classical imaging characteristics usually aid the radiologist in confidently arriving at its diagnosis, atypical hemangiomas can prove to be difficult to distinguish from other more worrisome hepatic lesions such as metastases and hepatocellular carcinoma. Furthermore, some malignant lesions can display features that simulate hemangiomas. The radiologist must be aware of these pitfalls to make an accurate diagnosis, when possible.
