Caves & Cliffs: Part II is in development at Mojang as the next major Minecraft update and you are able to test the latest world generation is a special version.
It’s a major shift in the way that the world is built in Minecraft and that’s why Mojang decided to approach things a bit differently this time. This, unlike normal testing, is not an official Snapshot you download through the launcher. Instead, if you go to their blog page explaining the process, it provides you with some information and a download link.
Although it’s all subject changes, here’s what’s different:
– New world height and depth – New mountain biomes (lofty peaks, snowcapped peaks, grove, meadow, and snowy slopes) New cave generation (cheese and spaghetti caves as well as noodle caves) – Local levels of water and lava in the underground caves – New cave biomes produce naturally underground and within mountains (lush caves or dripstone caves) – Natural variation in terrain shape and elevation, independent of biomes. For instance, forests and deserts could develop on a hill, without the need of a separate biome just for this. Minecraft
