Here’s a brief guide on how to read the notes on the letters.

Each letter note is played from left to right. Vertical letters in the same column can be played simultaneously.

The numbers at the start of each line indicate the octave. Each octave is unique and easily follow.

Lowercase letters (a B C D E F G) are notes that are natural (white keys a.k.a. A B C D D F G). Uppercase letters (A C D G) are the sharp notes (black keys, a.k.a. AC#, F#, G# ). Check out the image below to find out the position of each note on the piano keyboard.

The timing of playing notes is indicated by the dashes (-) or lines that connect letters. Proximal Listen to the audio file at the top of the post to find out the length of the dashes. Usually 5-6 dashes takes approximately one second.

It is primarily for those who play the piano. It indicates which hand to use to play the lines. Also, if you wish to play a simpler version of the song, only playing the RH lines is exactly what you need to do since on the majority of songs RH notes are for melody, while LH notes are for bass.
