The observed increase number of elderly actively employed persons. This indicates the need to study both classical geriatric aspects and new ways to maintain the proper level of their functional states. The current level of knowledge about the methods of adjusting functional states provides ample opportunity to correct violations in systems that are the most susceptible to factors of intense sports activity. According to the results of a comprehensive survey of a group of elderly ice hockey players, the most pronounced changes in the functioning of the central nervous system and antioxidant defense were determined. In this target group it is rationally to combine the use of the complex metabolic drug Cytoflavin with neurotropic antioxidant activity and the biological feedback method, as one of the most effective and safe ways to increase efficiency, having an extensive evidence base. The study included 50 women aged 60±1,5 years, teaching for 30±5,5 years at the middle level of a secondary school (grades 5-9) – main group, and 50 non-working women 61,5±1,3 years. The purpose of the study was to study the role of vitamin D in the formation of immunopathogenetic changes from cellular and humoral immune factors, free radical oxidation processes in working teachers and unemployed elderly women and the possibility of correcting the revealed violations with vitamin D subsidy. Before the start of the study, a decrease in the total content of vitamin D was revealed, violation of the functional and metabolic status of immunocytes, an imbalance in the production of Th1/Th2 cytokines, an increase in primary and secondary products peroxidation of the lipid extract of blood plasma, a decrease in the activity of superoxide dismutase and catalase to the main and control groups. The presence of direct correlations between the content of vitamin D, the balance of cytokines, the components of the lipid peroxidation system and antioxidant defense is proved. A vitamin D subsidy reduced the severity of immune and oxidative disorders in subjects. The obtained results confirm the need for monitoring the vitamin D content in order to reduce the risk of developing immunopathogenetic disorders in the elderly. For the purpose of methodological justification of the use of new approaches to the organization of psychiatric care for veterans of military operations in departmental general hospital health care institutions, the analysis of existing problems in providing psychiatric care to retired combatants with mental disorders of the system of the Ministry of internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia was carried out. It is shown that the existing organizational approaches have a number of significant drawbacks and do not fully provide quality therapy and medical and psychological rehabilitation to this contingent. Proposed in the development Concept of the psychiatric service of MIA to provide targeted prevention work with ex-combatants, current employees of power structures, including early diagnosis of early forms of mental disorders, timely provision of treatment & rehabilitation help with subsequent systematic monitoring of their mental health in government health facilities. This will not only improve the quality of diagnosis of mental disorders, but also improve the treatment of psychopathological disorders, reduce the stigma of psychiatric care and systematize the directions of work with this contingent at the stages of secondary prevention of changes in mental functions.Aging can be associated with decreasing muscle strength, and related factors are comorbidities, sex, physical activity, and possibly genetic factors. Among genetic factors the renin-angiotensin system is of interest, but data on the Peruvian population is lacking. The objective of our study was to evaluate the association of grip strength and angiotensin convertase enzyme (ACE) polymorphism in Peruvian older people. A cross-sectional study in a convenience sample of 104 participants over 60 years in Lima, Perú, with analysis of the ACE polymorphism, was performed. We studied 104 participants, 46 men (44,2%) and 58 women (55,8%), with a mean age and standard deviation (SD) of 73,7 (7,4) years, range between 60-90 years. The frequency of D/D, I/D and I/I genotypes was 12,7; 43,7 and 43,7% respectively. The genotype distribution of ACE polymorphism agreed with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (p=0,746). The mean (SD) of grip strength in the D/D, I/D and I/I polymorphisms were 24,8 (7,2); 22,8 (7,2) and 23,4 (7,6) kg respectively; no significant difference was observed (p=0,41) between genetic groups. In this small convenience sample of older Peruvians, no association was found between grip strength and ACE genotype. In a single-stage observational study, the dynamics of indicators of prevalence and incidence of mental retardation in persons aged 60 years and older in the North-Western Federal district was studied. It was found that in the diagnostic structure of the prevalence of mental disorders of older people in the northwestern Federal district in 2018, the share of mental retardation is 2,9%. Among all patients with mental retardation, the proportion of elderly people in the regions of the northwestern Federal district ranges from 1,9 to 7,6%. From 2016 to 2018 in the northwestern Federal district, the increase in the prevalence of mental retardation of the elderly due to the cumulative effect was 9,6%, and the decrease in the incidence rate was 26,5%. see more Cases of primary diagnosis of mental retardation in older people may be due to migration factors and diagnostic errors. A more thorough assessment of the clinical picture of cognitive disorders in elderly patients and accurate follow-up of diagnostic criteria is required. In the Belgorod region during 2010-2018 the total number of the population slightly increased by 1,3%, until 2017 only because of migratory gain. After 2018 it does not compensate natural decrease of the population. During the analyzed period from 2010 to 2018 the negative demographic trends which are characterized by depopulation owing to decrease in birth rate, growth of mortality and ageing of the population took place.
