Our results do not show any biologically relevant differences related to the different dose rates of passive and active proton beams.Active Kids is a government-led, universal voucher program that aims to reduce the cost of participation in structured physical activity for all school-enrolled children in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. As part of the Active Kids program evaluation, this cross-sectional study examined the Active Kids’ program’s reach to children in NSW and their physical activity behaviors, before voucher use. Demographic registration data from all children (4.5-18 years old) who registered for an Active Kids voucher in 2018 (n = 671,375) were compared with Census data. Binary and multinomial regression models assessed which correlates were associated with meeting physical activity guidelines and participation in the sessions of structured physical activity. The Active Kids program attracted more than half (53%) of all eligible children in NSW. Children who spoke a primary language other than English at home, were aged 15-18 years old, lived in the most disadvantaged areas, and girls, were less likely to register. Of the registered children, 70% had attended structured physical activity sessions at least once a week during the previous 12 months, whilst 19% achieved physical activity guidelines. Active Kids achieved substantial population reach and has the potential to improve children’s physical activity behaviors.Kernel morphology is one of the major yield traits of wheat, the genetic architecture of which is always important in crop breeding. In this study, we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to appraise the genetic architecture of the kernel traits of 319 wheat accessions using 22,905 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers from a wheat 90K SNP array. As a result, 111 and 104 significant SNPs for Kernel traits were detected using four multi-locus GWAS models (mrMLM, FASTmrMLM, FASTmrEMMA, and pLARmEB) and three single-locus models (FarmCPU, MLM, and MLMM), respectively. Among the 111 SNPs detected by the multi-locus models, 24 SNPs were simultaneously detected across multiple models, including seven for kernel length, six for kernel width, six for kernels per spike, and five for thousand kernel weight. Interestingly, the five most stable SNPs (RAC875_29540_391, Kukri_07961_503, tplb0034e07_1581, BS00074341_51, and BobWhite_049_3064) were simultaneously detected by at least three multi-locus models. Integrating these newly developed multi-locus GWAS models to unravel the genetic architecture of kernel traits, the mrMLM approach detected the maximum number of SNPs. Furthermore, a total of 41 putative candidate genes were predicted to likely be involved in the genetic architecture underlining kernel traits. These findings can facilitate a better understanding of the complex genetic mechanisms of kernel traits and may lead to the genetic improvement of grain yield in wheat.During the COVID-19 pandemic, people have reduced the frequency of going out, and need to engage in health behaviors at home. This paper aims to examine the influencing mechanism of health consciousness on home-based exercise during the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire method was used to select 449 Chinese respondents on an online platform; the questionnaire includes a health consciousness scale, health life goal scale, perceived behavioral control scale, and the home-based exercise scale. A T-test was used to conduct differential analysis. The hierarchical regression analysis method was used to examine the relationship between health consciousness and home-based exercise, and the Hayes’ SPSS PROCESS macro was used to test mediating effect. The results show that there are significant differences in home-based exercise with respect to gender, age, and marital status. Health consciousness has a significant positive effect on home-based exercise. Perceived behavioral control acts as the mediator between health consciousness and home-based exercise. Health consciousness can influence home-based exercise through health life goals and perceived behavioral control in turn. This paper takes a home-based exercise survey, and expands the theoretical research of home-based exercise. The findings suggest that people should pay attention to promoting the transformation of health consciousness into home-based exercise. In the context of a collection of clinical observations, in vitro and in vivo results are critically reported, often highlighting controversial aspects. This study aimed at up-stream protein extraction from red seaweed Eucheuma denticulatum by using of an optimized enzyme-assisted extraction, including of an aqueous/enzymatic treatment followed by alkaline extraction, and then the commercial carrageenan extraction.
