The metapro R package that implements the proposed methods is available from both CRAN and GitHub ( http//github.com/unistbig/metapro ).A massive coral bleaching event occurred in 2016 in the interior of Japan’s largest coral lagoon, the Sekisei Lagoon, located in the Kuroshio upstream region in southwestern Japan. Recovery of the coral lagoon will require the influx of coral spawn and larvae; therefore, it is important to identify and conserve source sites. A surface-particle-tracking simulation of coral spawn and larvae was used to identify source areas of coral spawn outside of the Sekisei Lagoon for potential recovery of the interior lagoon. The northern coastal zone of Iriomote Island, including Hatoma Island, was identified as a major source area. Hatoma Island was also identified as a key source for the Kuroshio downstream region and for aiding the poleward migration of coral habitat under ongoing global climate change, making it one of the most important source areas in the Nansei Archipelago.Enhancer DNA methylation and expression of MYBPHL was studied in multiple myeloma (MM). By bisulfite genomic sequencing, among the three CpGs inside the MYBPHL enhancer, CpG1 was significantly hypomethylated in MM cell lines (6.7-50.0%) than normal plasma cells (37.5-75.0%) (P = 0.007), which was negatively correlated with qPCR-measured MYBPHL expression. In RPMI-8226 and WL-2 cells, bearing the highest CpG1 methylation, 5-azadC caused enhancer demethylation and expression of MYBPHL. In primary samples, higher CpG1 methylation was associated with lower MYBPHL expression. By luciferase assay, luciferase activity was enhanced by MYBPHL enhancer compared with empty vector control, but reduced by site-directed mutagenesis of each CpG. RNA-seq data of newly diagnosed MM patients showed that MYBPHL expression was associated with t(11;14). MOLP-8 cells carrying t(11;14) express the highest levels of MYBPHL, and its knockdown reduced cellular proliferation and increased cell death. Herein, as a proof-of-concept, our data demonstrated that the MYBPHL enhancer, particularly CpG1, was hypomethylated and associated with increased MYBPHL expression in MM, which was implicated in myelomagenesis.Additive manufacturing of aluminum alloys is largely dominated by a near-eutectic Al-Si compositions, which are highly weldable, but have mechanical properties that are not competitive with conventional wrought Al alloys. GSK1904529A manufacturer In addition, there is a need for new Al alloys with improved high temperature properties and thermal stability for applications in the automotive and aerospace fields. In this work, we considered laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing of two alloys in the Al-Ce-Mg system, designed as near-eutectic (Al-11Ce-7Mg) and hyper-eutectic (Al-15Ce-9Mg) compositions with respect to the binary L → Al + Al11Ce eutectic reaction. The addition of magnesium is used to promote solid solution strengthening. A custom laser scan pattern was used to reduce the formation of keyhole porosity, which was caused by excessive vaporization due to the high vapor pressure of magnesium. The microstructure and tensile mechanical properties of the alloys were characterized in the as-fabricated condition and following hot isostatic pressing. The two alloys exhibit significant variations in solidification structure morphology. link2 These variations in non-equilibrium solidification structure were rationalized using a combination of thermodynamic and thermal modeling. Both alloys showed higher yield strength than AM Al-10Si-Mg for temperatures up to 350 °C and better strength retention at elevated temperatures than additively manufactured Scalmaloy.Frustrated magnets based on oxide double perovskites offer a viable ground wherein competing magnetic interactions, macroscopic ground state degeneracy and complex interplay between emergent degrees of freedom can lead to correlated quantum phenomena with exotic excitations highly relevant for potential technological applications. By local-probe muon spin relaxation ([Formula see text]SR) and complementary thermodynamic measurements accompanied by first-principles calculations, we here demonstrate novel electronic structure and magnetic phases of Ba[Formula see text]MnTeO[Formula see text], where Mn[Formula see text] ions with S = 5/2 spins constitute a perfect triangular lattice. Magnetization results evidence the presence of strong antiferromagnetic interactions between Mn[Formula see text] spins and a phase transition at [Formula see text] = 20 K. Below [Formula see text], the specific heat data show antiferromagnetic magnon excitations with a gap of 1.4 K, which is due to magnetic anisotropy. [Formula see text]SR reveals the presence of static internal fields in the ordered state and short-range spin correlations high above [Formula see text]. It further unveils critical slowing-down of spin dynamics at [Formula see text] and the persistence of spin dynamics even in the magnetically ordered state. Theoretical studies infer that Heisenberg interactions govern the inter- and intra-layer spin-frustration in this compound. Our results establish that the combined effect of a weak third-nearest-neighbour ferromagnetic inter-layer interaction (owing to double-exchange) and intra-layer interactions stabilizes a three-dimensional magnetic ordering in this frustrated magnet.Excessive expansion of adipose tissue in obesity typically leads to overflow and accumulation of lipids in other tissues, causing fatty liver disease and atherosclerosis. The intracellular protein, phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes (PEA)-15 has been linked to metabolic disease but its role in lipid storage has not been examined. To delineate the role of PEA-15 in adipose tissue, we placed PEA-15-/- mice on a high fat diet. These mice developed increased body weight and greater white adipose tissue expansion compared to high fat diet-fed wild type mice. This was due to increased adipocyte cell size in PEA-15-/- mice consistent with greater lipid storage capacity. Surprisingly, PEA-15-/- mice exhibited improvements in whole body insulin sensitivity, lower hepatic weight and decreased serum triglycerides indicating a protective phenotype. To determine effects on atherosclerosis, PEA-15-/- mice were crossed with the ApoE-/- mice on a high fat diet. Strikingly, these mice were protected from atherosclerosis and had less hepatic lipid accumulation despite increased adiposity. Therefore, we reveal for the first time that PEA-15 plays a novel role in regulating the expansion of adipose tissue. Decreasing PEA-15 expression increases the sequestering of lipids in adipose tissue, protecting other tissues in obesity, thereby improving metabolic health. In this paper, we propose graph attention based network representation (GANR) which utilizes the graph attention architecture and takes graph structure as the supervised learning information. Compared with node classification based representations, GANR can be used to learn representation for any given graph. GANR is not only capable of learning high quality node representations that achieve a competitive performance on link prediction, network visualization and node classification but it can also extract meaningful attention weights that can be applied in node centrality measuring task. GANR can identify the leading venture capital investors, discover highly cited papers and find the most influential nodes in Susceptible Infected Recovered Model. We conclude that link structures in graphs are not limited on predicting linkage itself, it is capable of revealing latent node information in an unsupervised way once a appropriate learning algorithm, like GANR, is provided. This study was aimed to determine the effect of the amount of astigmatism on distance visual acuity, and to provide a prediction formula of visual acuity according to astigmatism, in a presbyopic population. We comprised 318 eyes of 318 consecutive patients (158 phakic and 160 pseudophakic subjects) without any eye diseases, except for refractive errors with astigmatism of 3 diopter or less. We assessed the relationship of the spherical equivalent visual acuity (SEVA) with astigmatism, and also provided a regression formula of visual acuity according to astigmatism in such subjects. We found a significant correlation between the SEVA and the amount of astigmatism (r = 0.715, p  less then  0.001) in the entire study population. link3 We obtained similar results, not only in phakic eyes (r = 0.718, p  less then  0.001), but also in pseudophakic eyes (r = 0.717, p  less then  0.001). The regression formula was expressed as follows y = 0.017×2 + 0.125x – 0.116 (R2 = 0.544), where y = logMAR SEVA, and x = astigmatism. We also found no significant differences in the SEVA for matched comparison among the with-the-rule (WTR), against-the-rule (ATR), and oblique (OBL) astigmatism subgroups (p = 0.922). These regression formulas may be clinically beneficial not only for estimating the visual prognosis after astigmatic correction, but also for determining the surgical indication of astigmatic correction. With many previous studies indicating a higher prevalence of sexual problems in patients with tinnitus, the association between tinnitus and erectile dysfunction (ED) has become an interesting topic that warrants further research. In our study, we hypothesized that tinnitus may be associated with ED and aimed to further explore the relationship between these two medical conditions using a nationwide population-based database. After retrieving data of 19,329 patients with ED and 19,329 propensity score-matched patients without ED (controls) from Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Dataset, we defined the diagnosis date (the date of the first ED claim) for patients with ED as the index date for cases, and the date of the first utilization of ambulatory care by patients without ED during the index year of their matched case as the index date for controls. We found that 1247 out of 38,658 sampled patients (3.23%) had received a tinnitus diagnosis within the year before the index date, with 792 (4.10%) from cases and 455 (2.35%) from controls. We then utilized multiple logistic regression analysis and observed that cases were more likely to have had a prior tinnitus diagnosis compared to controls (OR 1.772; 95% CI 1.577-1.992; p  less then  0.001). Lastly, we adjusted the data for co-morbid medical disorders and social economic factors, with the end results showing that cases were more likely than controls to have a prior diagnosis of tinnitus (OR 1.779, 95% CI 1.582-2.001, p  less then  0.001). Through our investigation, we have ultimately detected a novel association between ED and tinnitus and urge physicians to be alert to the possibility of the development of ED in patients treated for tinnitus.Biochar and zeolite are widely used in the remediation of soil contaminated with toxic heavy metals. However, the interaction of these amendments and their effects on grass productivity have not been comprehensively summarized. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological effects of zeolite and biochar used as soil amendments in the process of remediating soil contaminated with Cd, Pb and Zn. In a pot experiment, the following treatments were applied zeolite, biochars produced at temperatures of 350 °C and 550 °C, mixtures of biochars and zeolite, and a control treatment without any amendments. The soil amendments were tested on two grass species tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) and cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata L.). The root morphometric parameters and aboveground production were determined in 2017 and 2018.Higher biomass production was observed in the tested grasses in the treatments with zeolite alone (0.229 kg DM m-2) or mixed with the biochars (0.239 kg DM m-2) than in control treatment (0.
