Mechanistically, miR-26a, which is enriched in SA-Exo, improved angiogenesis both in SHED and HUVECs via regulating TGF-β/SMAD2/3 signalling.

In summary, these data reveal that SA-Exo shuttled miR-26a promotes angiogenesis via TGF-β/SMAD2/3 signalling contributing to SHED aggregate-based pulp tissue regeneration. These novel insights into SA-Exo may facilitate the development of new strategies for pulp regeneration.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the medication calculation skills of graduating nursing students in six European countries and analyse the associated factors.

Medication calculation skills are fundamental to medication safety, which is a substantial part of patient safety. Previous studies have raised concerns about the medication calculation skills of nurses and nursing students.

As part of a broader research project, this study applies a multinational cross-sectional survey design with three populations graduating nursing students, nurse managers and patients.

The students performed two calculations (tablet and fluid) testing medication calculation skills requiring different levels of conceptual understanding and arithmetic. The managers and patients answered one question about the students’ medication kills. In total, 1,796 students, 538 managers and 1,327 patients participated the study. The data were analysed statistically. The STROBE guideline for cross-sectional studies was applied.

Almoon calculation skills. This calls for attention in the fields of clinical nursing, education and research.

Graduating nursing students enter clinical field as qualified professionals, but there is still room for improvement in their medication calculation skills. This calls for attention in the fields of clinical nursing, education and research.Early-life environmental conditions can provide a source of individual variation in life-history strategies and senescence patterns. Conditions experienced in early life can be quantified by measuring telomere length, which can act as a biomarker of survival probability in some species. Here, we investigate whether seasonal changes, weather conditions and group size are associated with early-life and/or early-adulthood telomere length in a wild population of European badgers (Meles meles). We found substantial intra-annual changes in telomere length during the first 3 years of life, where within-individual effects showed shorter telomere lengths in the winter following the first spring and a trend for longer telomere lengths in the second spring compared to the first winter. In terms of weather conditions, cubs born in warmer, wetter springs with low rainfall variability had longer early-life (3-12 months old) telomeres. Additionally, cubs born in groups with more cubs had marginally longer early-life telomeres, providing no evidence of resource constraint from cub competition. We also found that the positive association between early-life telomere length and cub survival probability remained when social and weather variables were included. Finally, after sexual maturity, in early adulthood (i.e., 12-36 months) we found no significant association between same-sex adult group size and telomere length (i.e., no effect of intrasexual competition). Overall, we show that controlling for seasonal effects, which are linked to food availability, is important in telomere length analyses, and that variation in telomere length in badgers reflects early-life conditions and also predicts first year cub survival.

The purpose of the study was to explore students’ experiences from joint simulation training with qualified nurses that took place in students´ first-year placement at a nursing home.

Nursing students’ clinical placement in nursing homes has been pictured as inadequate, boring and irrelevant. ZCL278 There is a need for innovative learning designs that include increased collaboration between the educational institution and clinical placement site to support student learning in practice. Simulation training is highlighted as a learning activity that enhances practical skills and reflection.

The study had a qualitative evaluation design to explore and capture students’ experiences and provide an understanding of the impact of the joint simulation activity during placement.

Three retrospective focus group interviews were conducted with a total of twenty nursing students. Written reflective notes from sixteen of the students were included in the study. The data were analysed by means of a thematic content analysients.

Creating collaborative learning activities between nursing homes and universities, such as joint simulation, can increase relevance and enhance learning and student satisfaction in their clinical placement. It can also promote nursing homes as interesting learning arena and future workplace for nursing students. The development of high-performance and low-cost durable triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) is essential for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Many organic polymer friction materials used widely have thermal stability problems, which makes TENGs with semiconductors as friction materials stand out. Here, we report a semi-flexible TENG based on metal and TiO2 modified by polyoxometalates (POMs) as pure inorganic friction materials. Six different POMs are firstly selected to modify the friction materials of TENGs, and the output performance of TENGs with different POMs-modified semiconductors and different metals as friction materials are tested. Compared with the unmodified TENGs, the open-circuit voltage (VOC ) of the optimal Ag-K6 P2 Mo18 O62 (P2 Mo18 )/TiO2 TENG device is increased by more than 4 times, which is mainly attributed to the strong electron-accepting and storage capabilities of POMs. This study has demonstrated that TENGs modified by POMs have potential application prospects and provided a new method for increasing the electrical output of TENGs.
