    The association between risk factors and intracranial atherosclerosis disease (ICAD) determined by magnetic resonance (MR) vessel wall imaging in Chinese population has not been investigated. The aim of this study was to investigate the associations of conventional vascular risk factors with asymptomatic and symptomatic ICAD using MR vessel wall imaging in Chinese population.

    The study population was recruited from two cohort studies of ICASMAP and CAMERA comprised 104 symptomatic ICAD subjects (57.1 ± 11.1 years; 35.6% females), 51 asymptomatic ICAD subjects (70.1 ± 8.4 years; 50.0% females) and 418 controls (58.0 ± 13.3 years; 61.0% females) defined as asymptomatic subjects without ICAD on MR vessel wall imaging. We compared the vascular risk factors between the three groups using a multivariate logistic regression analysis.

    Compared with controls, there was a significant positive association between age (OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.03-1.10, p < 0.001) and hypertension (OR 3.03, 95% CI 1.45-6.36, p = 0.003) and asymptomatic ICAD. There was a positive association of smoking (OR 3.41, 95% CI 1.57-7.42, p = 0.001), hypertension (OR 7.43, 95% CI 3.81-14.49, p < 0.001) and diabetes (OR 3.54, 95% CI 1.93-6.49, p < 0.001) and an inverse association of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (p < 0.017) with symptomatic ICAD. Compared to asymptomatic ICAD, there was a significant inverse association of age (OR 0.86, 95% CI 0.81-0.92, p < 0.001) and HDL (p < 0.001) with symptomatic ICAD.

    Early diagnosis and proper management of a large number of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients are great challenges for the Chinese health care system. Although tiered medical services have been promoted by the Chinese government since 2015, they have not been ideally implemented for COPD diagnosis and management.

    We designed a cross-sectional study. Eligible COPD patients (n = 648) and physicians (n = 161) were consecutively recruited from 8 hospitals in different tiers in China. COPD characteristics and treatments were compared among hospitals in different tiers. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to identify risk factors associated with airflow limitation, symptoms and acute exacerbation.

    The PFT rate at first diagnosis was 99%, 69.4% and 29.9% in teaching, second-tier and community hospitals (P < 0.001). Only approximately 10.9%, 1.7% and 9.6% and 21.8%, 6.9% and 32% of COPD patients received influenza or pneumococcal vaccines (P < 0.001). The proportion of patients who did not use inhaled drugs or had irregular inhalation was 2%, 24.6% and 78.8% (P < 0.001). Education level (RR-1 = -41.26%, P = 0.007), FEV1%pred (RR-1 = -2.76%, P < 0.001), and influenza vaccination in the last year (RR-1 = -64.53%, P = 0.006) were all negatively correlated with COPD acute exacerbation (AE). COPD duration (RR-1 = 131.73%, P = 0.009), AE (RR-1 = 151.39%, P < 0.001), and COPD Assessment Test (CAT) scores (RR-1 = 3.82%, P = 0.019) were all positively correlated with COPD airflow limitation severity.

    To determine the differences between ventilators in a bench model with an increased inspiratory demand; and to compare the degree of muscular unloading measured by parasternal electromyogram (EMGpara) provided by the different ventilators in real patients with stable COPD.

Severe COPD patients with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) were studied, randomly comparing the performance of one ventilator from each group.     There were significant differences in PTP 300 and PTP 500 in the bench study. Based on these results, home ventilators were classified into two groups; group 1 included four models with higher PTP 300. Ten COPD patients were recruited for the clinical study. Group 1 ventilators showed greater muscle unloading at the same PS than group 2.

    Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 infection remains a concern. As patient adherence to antiretroviral therapy is essential to avoid drug resistance and virologic failure, greater understanding of patient treatment satisfaction may help facilitate ongoing medication use.

    An online survey was conducted through the Carenity US HIV platform (04/07/2020-05/26/2020). Eligible respondents were adults with HIV-1 registered on the platform who were receiving darunavir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (DRV/c/FTC/TAF) and living in the United States. This descriptive study assessed patient satisfaction with DRV/c/FTC/TAF and HIV-related symptoms at baseline and follow-up (4-6 weeks).
