Empty Your Closet
You’ll probably find some stuff in the back corner of your closet if you’re used to shoveling clothes into your closet. Make sure all hangers, baskets, bins, and everything else on the floor is removed.
Clean Every Corner
Reorganizing your closet requires a clear, clean space for planning and visualization. First, dust the shelves and hangers. Clean the floor by vacuuming or sweeping and mopping it afterwards. Finally, use an all-purpose cleaner to clean the shelves, hanging rods, walls, and baseboards. Make sure your baskets or bins are not collecting dust and dirt.
Clothing, shoes, and accessories that need to be decluttered
Now comes the part you’ve been looking forward to or dreading. It may be that some people fear decluttering because they love holding on to things that may one day be useful or used to be fashionable. A key component of the KonMari Method is to focus on what you’re keeping rather than what you’re getting rid of.
Here are Fitted Dressing Rooms to ask yourself when deciding whether you should keep something:
Do you love it?
Do you wear it?
Do you think it conveys the image you want?
Then you can confidently put that item in the keeper category.
Creating a maybe pile can help you if you’re having difficulty. Consider putting your maybe pile into the bin for one, three, or six months, then revisiting it. Donate or consign these items if you forgot or did not think to wear them.
Assess Storage Solutions
You may have difficulty finding the right closet storage solutions for your specific space. It’s fortunate that there are tons of great closet organizer options, including closet system kits, but most people can get by with just a few low-cost closet organizers.
